Following the success of Temple Service Manager Chris Hattley’s fundraising evening last October, it was the turn of fellow Service Manager Martin Murrihy to host his fundraising evening for Demelza Hospice Care for Children – with a distinctive Las Vegas theme!
The evening was a ticket-only event, and positively each and every one of the 150 tickets were sold. With singing, a raffle and auctions, the evening was a lively and entertaining experience for all those attending – Elvis even made an appearance!
Far exceeding Martin’s expectations, the evening raised a staggering £2,200 for Demelza Hospice through the combination of ticket sales, the raffle and the auctions.
Continuing on with these great charitable contributions, Martin’s local gym, Whiteoaks Leisure Centre, organised a two hour cycle spinning class, which raised an amazing £182! Thank you to everyone involved in this exhausting task.
These two amounts, in addition to the current donations on Martin’s Just Giving page brings his fundraising total to in excess of £3000.
Chris and Martin will soon be undertaking the Demelza 101 – Sittingbourne to Amsterdam Cycle Challenge next month, from 27 April 2016 – 01 May 2016. We once again wish them the very best of luck and congratulate them on their fundraising efforts.
